PO Box 45 - Dyke Night

to 8 Aug

PO Box 45 - Dyke Night

Calling all DYKES! Dyke night is back! Trans, intersex and gender diverse inclusive. If dykes are your community you are welcome too.

Inspired by the incredible work of the Lesbian Line volunteers who bravely made space for lesbians and queer people when we couldn’t find each other, we have named our night PO Box 45.
PO Box 45 was operated alongside Lesbian Lines helpline in the 80s and 90s, lesbians and queer people could write to the PO Box and someone would reply. We are blessed to have some of the volunteers still part of our beautiful community in Galway.

7pm to 9pm will be a chill mixer, so we can chat, reconnect with old friends and make new connections. Our Queer Connections writing workshop (Wed 5th 2pm to 4pm Macnas) will display a missed connections notice board. Tea, coffee and snacks.

9pm to 1am with the brilliant Ciara May and Love Smoke.

This event is a fundraiser for Galway Community Pride.
Galway Community Pride is fully volunteer led and community funded, all donations go to the community, thank you.

Sailhymn and Sharpie: A Galway Pride Show

Sailhymn and Sharpie: A Galway Pride Show

'Sailhymn and Sharpie' are a healthy dose of humility and humanity through the musical lens of Galway's loveable, gender-bending buddies - Steven Sharpe and Sailhymn Ó Neart. Equipped with Sailhymn raspy lows and Sharpie's oh-so-awesome alto in songs both sweet and sassy, they might just make your hips and heart harmoniously wiggle and jiggle. Their 2 piece was born out of the desire for a Yes Vote in the 2015 Marriage Equality Referendum. With two live albums below the belt, Honey! They are living for all of it. Honey! Free Online, €5.00 on the door.

"Both are established and strong vocalists, and when they come together, they bring an extra dose of character and pizazz.

Comedic, colourful and occasionally off-the-cuff, this is a show within a gig. Just try and name a more iconic duo... I'll wait." - The Irish times
